This treat turns regular store-bought cookies into an irresistible holiday treat with just two added ingredients you probably already have around the holidays. Easy and fun to make with kids. If no kids are present, it's a great time to make Schwetty Balls jokes.

Recipe Ingredients for Oreo Truffles

4 servings Oreo cookies (12 cookies)
2 oz fat free cream cheese spread, softened
3 oz Baker's squares semisweet chocolate

Recipe Directions for Oreo Truffles

  1. Smash the Oreos in a food processor or in a plastic bag with a rolling pin.

  2. Reserve about 1/4 cup of the Oreo crumbs for decoration later.

  3. Combine the Oreo crumbs with the softened cream cheese.

  4. Use two teaspoons to divide the dough, and roll it into 24 balls.

  5. Arrange the balls on a cookie sheet and refrigerate for at least one hour.

  6. On very low heat, melt the chocolate.

  7. Roll each ball in the chocolate, and lay on wax paper to cool. Using two slotted spoons to roll and coat the balls works well.

  8. Sprinkle the reserved Oreo crumbs over the top of the balls.

  9. When cooled completely, store covered in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve.

  10. Grab some milk and have at it!
