Healthier version of spicy orange chicken.

Recipe Ingredients for Orange Sweet & Spicy Chicken

600 grams chicken breast, boneless and skinless
5 tablespoons orange juice, fresh squeezed
3 tbsp peanut oil
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp orange zest
1 tsp fish sauce
1 tsp ginger, fresh ground
1 tsp sriracha
1 pinch garlic powder
1/4 tsp salt

Recipe Directions for Orange Sweet & Spicy Chicken

  1. Cut the chicken into thin cutlets and season with salt and pepper if desired. You should use one full chicken breast or two halves. They are usually packaged as half breasts.

  2. Pour one tablespoon peanut oil into pan heated to medium heat. Wait for oil to shimmer, then add chicken.

  3. Cook chicken for three minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.

  4. While chicken cooks, mix remaining ingredients in a bowl.

  5. Remove chicken from pan and allow to rest.

  6. After all of the chicken is cooked and removed from pan, turn pan up to high heat and add sauce.

  7. Cook sauce, stirring constantly, until it thickens into a runny syrup. Turn off pan and remove sauce from pan immediately. If you leave it in the pan, it will continue to cook and burn even if you turn the pan off.

  8. Slice chicken into strips and mix with sauce. Serve over pasta with broccoli or on rice. Enjoy!
