Make Sourdough starter ahead of time.

Recipe Ingredients for Orange-Cinnamon Sourdough Rolls

3/4 cup flour (sourdough starter)
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup buttermilk
4 tablespoons butter, melted
1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon orange peel, grated
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 cups confectioner's sugar
1/2 teaspoon orange extract
2 tablespoons milk

Recipe Directions for Orange-Cinnamon Sourdough Rolls

  1. Mix first six ingredients. Knead about 15 times. Roll out into rectangle. Brush with 3 T melted butter. Sprinkle with sugar, orange peel and cinnamon. Roll up jelly-roll style. Cut into 16 pieces. Place cut side up in greased baking pan. Drizzle with remaining 1 T butter. Bake at 450 for 20-25 minutes.

  2. Mix Confectioner's sugar, extract and enough milk to make of drizzling consistency. Drizzle over warm rolls.
