Tasty pan fried burgers with a tangy tomatoe sauce

Recipe Ingredients for Open-Faced Texas Burgers

1 lb. ground beef
1/4 c. chopped onion
1/4 tsp. dried thyme
1 1/3 c. shredded cheddar cheese
4 slices Texas toast
1 c. ketchup
1 tbsp. brown sugar, packed
1 tsp. Worcestershire
1 tsp. A1 Original Steak Sauce

Recipe Directions for Open-Faced Texas Burgers

  1. In a large bowl, combine onion, garlic, thyme and 1 c. cheese. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well. Shape into 4 oval shaped patties.

  2. In a large skillet, cook burgers over Med-Hi heat for 5-7 min. on each side or until meat is no longer pink. Meanwhile, prepare Texas toast.

  3. Drain burgers; set aside & keep warm. Add tomato sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce and steak sauce to the skillet. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 1-2 min. until slightly thickened. Return burgers to skillet; turn to coat. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Serve burgers on toast.
