Plain onion soup - no egg or cheese

Recipe Ingredients for Onion Soup

6 large Onions
2 Cube Chicken Stock Cubes
1500 grams Water
47 grams Red Lentils
2 1tsp Olive Oil
60 grams Wheat Flour, White, All-purpose, Enriched, Bleached
50 grams Wine, Table, Red

Recipe Directions for Onion Soup

  1. Chop the onions and cooked very slowly over low heat with a tiny bit of oil and water, for a long time until caramalised and sweet.

  2. Cook in a pot with the flour, Add boiling water with stock mixed in. Add lentils, bay leaves, salt, pepper and red wine, or sherry. Allow to simmer for an hour or more
