Recipe Ingredients for Onion Gravy

1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon butter
3 onions
2 tablespoons sage
300 ml red wine
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon dijon mustard

Recipe Directions for Onion Gravy

  1. Melt butter and oil

  2. Add onions and cook gently. Add fresh sage leaves after 5 minutes. Cook until soft and beginning to brown, about 15 to 20 minutes.

  3. Add wine and sugar, bring to boil and boil 5 minutes.

  4. Stir in mustard. Taste and season with salt and pepper. Cook 5 more minutes and serve.
