Makes 1 serving

Triangular Japanese rice balls with chicken sausage filling.

Recipe Ingredients for Onigiri

1 cup Rice, White, Medium-grain, Cooked
0.63 grams Nori, 10 sheets
22 grams Organic Chicken and Apple Sausage
3 grams Nori Komi Furikake Rice Seasoning

Recipe Directions for Onigiri

  1. 1. Use a rice cooker to cook 2 cups of Japanese styled California medium grain rice. (Yields 4 cups cooked.)

  2. 2. Spray a skillet with pam or cooking spray. Slice up one chicken sausage cook in pan until thoroughly cooked. Make sure you flip the little sausage slices so that they are cooked on both sides.

  3. 3. Use a rice paddle and a measuring cup to measure out 1 cup of rice.

  4. 4. Take half of your measured rice, handling it with plastic wrap, and shape it into a triangle. Set the other half a cup of rice aside.

  5. 5. Lay 1/4-1/3 of sliced sausage in the center of your rice triangle.

  6. 6. Cover rice triangle with remaining half a cup of rice and reshape into a triangle using plastic wrap and your hands.

  7. 7. Sprinkle rice seasoning (Furikake) to taste on rice ball.

  8. 8. Right before serving, add a slice of Nori to your rice ball for seasoning and manageability. (Less than 10 calories)
