Recipe Ingredients for One Dish Saucy Spaghetti

1 tsp cooking oil
1/2 lb hot italian sausage (cut into 1 inch pieces)
1/2 tsp cooking oil
1/2 lb lean ground beef
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1 garlic clove, minced (or 1/4 tsp, powder)
14 oz tomatoes, diced (canned with juice)
10 oz mushroom stems (canned with liquid)
1 cup water
7 1/2 oz tomato sauce
1/2 tsp oregano, dried
1/2 tsp thyme, dried
1/2 tsp basil, dried
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
6 oz spaghetti, broken up

Recipe Directions for One Dish Saucy Spaghetti

  1. Heat first amount of cooking oil in large frying pan on medium. Add sausage. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned. Transfer with slotted spoon to paper towels to drain. Set aside. Discard drippings.

  2. Heat second amount of cooking oil in same large frying pan on medium-high. Add ground beef, onion and garlic. Scramble fry for 5 to 10 minutes until beef is no longer pink and onion is softened. Drain.

  3. Add sausage and next 9 ingredients. Stir. Bring to a boil.

  4. Add spaghetti. Stir. Reduct heat to medium-low. Cover. Simmer for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until spaghetti is tender but firm. Remove cover. Simmer for 1 to 2 minutes until sauce is thickened.
