This is good with any dried fruit or with apples,etc.

Recipe Ingredients for Old Fashioned Raisin Bars

1 cup raisins
1 cup water
1/2 cup canola oil
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 3/4 cup flour
1 pinch salt
1 tsp bk soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp allspice
1/4 tsp cloves

Recipe Directions for Old Fashioned Raisin Bars

  1. Bring to boil 1 cup raisins and 1 cup water. Put in bowl and add 1 cup sugar. let cool. beat in 1 egg.

  2. Stir together in a separate bowl and add 1 3/4 cup flour, pinch salt, 1 tsp soda, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp nutmeg, 1/2 tsp allspice and 1/4 tsp cloves.

  3. put in greased 13 by 9 pan and bake at 350 degrees until done.
