Recipe Ingredients for Old-fashioned lemonade

1 1/4 c sugar
1 c water
1 c lemon juice
4 c ice water

Recipe Directions for Old-fashioned lemonade

  1. Combine sugar and 1 c water with peel of 2 lemons, cut in strips and bitter white part removed.

  2. Boil gently in small saucepan for 8-10 min until sugar is dissolved and mixture is syrupy; remove lemon peel

  3. Pour cooled syrup into large pitcher, add lemon juice and ice water; stir well. Add plenty of ice cubes and stir well again.
