Recipe Ingredients for Old Fashioned Corn Bread

1 cup corn meal
1 cup all purpose flour
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup butter
1 cup milk
3 eggs
1 tbs sugar
1/2 tsp salt

Recipe Directions for Old Fashioned Corn Bread

  1. Preheat oven to 425

  2. Melt butter in medium size loaf pan

  3. Whisk together dry ingredients

  4. Whisk together eggs and sugar until light in color; add milk and whisk until frothy.

  5. Pour wet ingredients into dry and mix to combine but don't over mix.

  6. Stir in melted butter

  7. Pour mixture into the loaf pan used to melt the butter.

  8. Bake at 425 for 20 minuets.
