Recipe Ingredients for Oil Braised Red Onions

32 oz Onion Red
3 tbsp Mediterranean Olive Oil, Extra Virgin, Organic
1.5 tbsp Vinegar red wine
0.75 oz Wine
0.5 oz Water
1 tbsp, crumbled Bay Leaf
1 tsp Sea Salt
1 tsp Pepper, Black

Recipe Directions for Oil Braised Red Onions

  1. Preheat oven to 375-degrees

  2. Slice onions vertically into 3/4" pieces.

  3. Layer in shallow 10x13-inch baking dish.

  4. Mix olive oil, vinegar, water and wine.

  5. Pour over red onion. Cover tightly with aluminum foil.

  6. Bake for 35-45 minutes or until onions are tender at root ends. Remove foil and continue to bake until liquid is down to a glaze.

  7. Serve warm or at room temperature.

  8. Good on crostini with goat cheese as appetizers.
