Heavy pancakes with oats - note: I halved the sugar called for in the original recipe.

Recipe Ingredients for Oaty pancakes

3/4 cups plain flour
1/2 cup wholewheat flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
1 tsp baking powder
1 tbsp sugar
1 egg
1 tbsp sunflower oil
1 cup skim milk

Recipe Directions for Oaty pancakes

  1. mix dry ingredients together in large bowl

  2. make a well in the centre and add the egg, oil and 1/4 of the milk

  3. mix well then gradually add the rest of the milk to make a thick batter

  4. leave in fridge for 20 minutes

  5. heat a lightly oiled, large, heavy based frying pan

  6. use 2 tablespoons of batter for each pancake, cook for 3 minutes on each side, or until golden
