Pancakes with the extra texture of oats.

Recipe Ingredients for Oaty Pancakes

1 cup low fat milk
1 cup oats
1 egg
2 tablespoons sugar
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 tablespoons butter

Recipe Directions for Oaty Pancakes

  1. Mix milk and oats in a bowl, let soak for 5 mins or until oats are softer.

  2. Add egg and sugar to milk mixture.

  3. Sift flour and baking powder into the milk mixture.

  4. Melt butter in fry pan and pour half into mixture (leave half in fry pan to use to cook pancakes).

  5. Stir all ingredients together. Add more milk if too thick.

  6. Pour into heated frypan, enough to cover surface for one large pancake. (Mixture makes six large pancakes).

  7. Flip when bubbles appear all over mixture in pan.

  8. Serve with maple syrup, lemon juice or yoghurt and fruit.
