A moist, dense, loaf/cake. Yummy!

Recipe Ingredients for Oaty Apple Loaf

125 g butter
1 tsp mixed spice
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 cup brown sugar
2 apples, grated
1 cup sultanas
1 cup water
1 tsp baking soda
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup rolled oats
1 1/2 cups plain flour
3 tsp baking powder

Recipe Directions for Oaty Apple Loaf

  1. Put butter, spices, sugar, apples, sultanas and water into a large saucepan. Bring to the boil, stirring occasionally. remove from heat and cool.

  2. Add soda, eggs, and rolled oats. Sift in flour and BP. Stir to combine.

  3. Pour into a greased loaf or cake tin. Bake at 180c for 45 mins or until it springs back when touched.
