Steel cut oatmeal with apples and cinnamon. You can make this ahead of time and refrigerate it for several days and reheat in microwave.

Recipe Ingredients for Oats and Apples Cereal

2 medium (3") Apples
0.5 cup (dry) 100% Natural Steel Cut Oats (dry)
2 cup (8 fl oz) Water
0.25 tsp Salt, Table
0.25 tsp Cinnamon, Ground

Recipe Directions for Oats and Apples Cereal

  1. Add salt to water and bring to a boil.

  2. While waiting for the water to boil, core the apples and dice them into small pieces -- some preference is allowable here.

  3. Add the oats to the boiling water, bring back to a boil then immediately lower the heat to a very low boil/fast simmer and stir in the apples and cinnamon.

  4. Cook for 20 minutes stirring occasionally to prevent sticking to the bottom.

  5. Cover, remove from heat let stand for a few minutes.

  6. Put in bowl(s).

  7. Eat.
