A dense, whole-grain loaf that's not too sweet and 100% natural, sweetened with honey and very low in fat

Recipe Ingredients for Oatmeal Whole Wheat Quick Bread

2 cups rolled oats
2 cups whole wheat flour
4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
3 tbsp honey
2 tbsp natural applesauce
2 cups nonfat milk

Recipe Directions for Oatmeal Whole Wheat Quick Bread

  1. Grind 1 cup of the oats in a food processor until almost powdery

  2. Preheat oven to 375 degrees fahrenheit

  3. In a large bowl, combine oats, flour, baking powder, and salt

  4. In a separate bowl, dissolve honey into applesauce, then stir in the milk

  5. Add wet mixture to dry mixture and stir until all is moistened

  6. Pour into a lightly oiled 9x5-inch loaf pan

  7. Sprinkle a few rolled oats and/or some raw sugar over the top of the batter, if desired

  8. Bake for 30-40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean

  9. Serve warm with your favorite jam
