A great way to have something hot, sweet, healthy, and satisfying to start your morning, even when you're in a hurry.

Recipe Ingredients for oatmeal - fruity crockpot steel-cut oatmeal - 1c serving

1 cup oatmeal, steel-cut
1/2 cup cranberries, dried
1/4 cup currants, dried
1 banana
2 cups organic milk, nonfat
4 cups water
2 tablespoons wheat germ
2 tablespoons flaxseed meal

Recipe Directions for oatmeal - fruity crockpot steel-cut oatmeal - 1c serving

  1. Add dry ingredients to crockpot at any time.

  2. Just before bed, add milk and water, and set crockpot to "keep warm" or "low" setting, depending on the heat output of your crockpot.

  3. Cook overnight.

  4. In the morning, turn off the crockpot and serve.
