You don't need sugar or milk on this hot breakfast, but make sure you use rolled oats not quick. It takes twice as long but its worth it.

Recipe Ingredients for oatmeal with fruit

1 1/2 cups water
2/3 cup rolled oats
3/8 tsp salt
4 apricots, dried
1/2 medium apple, diced
1/4 cup raisins

Recipe Directions for oatmeal with fruit

  1. Put water and salt in pan and bring to boil.

  2. Add oats, reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes.

  3. Add fruit and simmer until most water is absorbed (about 5 more minutes)
