Delicious donuts that not only raise your cholesterol but lower it too! This recipe could probably use a little tweaking. Suggestions are appreciated.

Recipe Ingredients for Oatmeal Donuts

2 cups Oatmeal Pancake Mix
1/2 cup whole milk
1 large egg
1 tbsp vegetable oil
4 tbsp maple syrup
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 tbps all purpose flour
1 tbsp powdered sugar

Recipe Directions for Oatmeal Donuts

  1. Combine milk, egg, 1 tsp oil, maple syrup and cinnamon. Mix until well blended. (additional oil in the ingredients is an estimate of how much soaks into the donuts while frying)

  2. Add pancake mix and mix thoroughly. Oatmeal pancake mix doesn't have as much gluten as other pancake mixes. Mixing it longer may produce a better texture for your donut.

  3. Roll out on a floured surface (1 tbsp was just an estimate of how much sticks to the donuts) and cut into 12 donuts.

  4. Place donuts in hot oil to fry.

  5. Remove lightly browned donuts to a rack to cook. Sprinkle warm donuts with powdered sugar.

  6. Cool and enjoy.
