Easy and quick bar cookie. Calorie count for recipe includes regular condensed milk. Fat-free condensed milk can be used.

Recipe Ingredients for Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Bars

1 cup all purpose flour
1 cup quick-cooking oats
3/4 cup dark brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup butter
1 cup chocolate chips
1/4 cup sweetened, dried coconut
14 ounces sweetened condensed milk

Recipe Directions for Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Bars

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, oats, and brown sugar.

  3. Cut in butter until mixed and crumbly.

  4. Pour half of the oat mixture into a greased 13x9x2 inch baking pan, pat down firmly. Bake 8 - 10 minutes at 350.

  5. Meanwhile, mix coconut into remaining oat mixture.

  6. Remove crust from oven. Spread condensed milk evenly over crust. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Top with remaining oat mixture. Pat gently.

  7. Bake 25 - 30 minutes at 350 or until lightly browned. Cool in pan on wire rack. When completely cooled, cut, remove from pan, and store in an airtight container.
