Recipe Ingredients for Oatmeal Breakfast Bars

2 cups oats
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup apple juice
1/4 cup wheat germ
6 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup banana
1/2 dates
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon

Recipe Directions for Oatmeal Breakfast Bars

  1. Preheat oven to 375, grease 9x13 pan.

  2. In a large bowl mix together dry ingredients.

  3. In separate bowl, combine wet ingredients.

  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients.

  5. Batter will be sticky and you might have to mix by hand in the end.

  6. Mix in the yummies like dried fruit, nuts or chocolate chips.

  7. Press into pan and bake 30 minutes. COOl and cut. These store well in the fridge in plastic zip bags. Micro one of these in the afternoon with a cuppa tea...you are set!
