Recipe Ingredients for Oatmeal Bread

1 cup rolled oats
2 1/4 cups water
1 tbls dried yeast
2 tbls brown sugar
2 tsp salt
3 cups Wheat Flour, whole-grain
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup 2% milk

Recipe Directions for Oatmeal Bread

  1. According to Shaw, the oatmeal is to be cooked with the two cups water before adding to the dough mixture. Proof yeast in usual manner in the 1/4 cup water. Combine all and kneed as usual. Rise. Punch down, shape into 2 loaves. Rise.

  2. Bake at 375 for about 50 minutes.

  3. Note the analysis insists on using standard white flour instead of the whole wheat, so mentally double the fiber it lists.
