Recipe Ingredients for Oatmeal apple breakfast cookies

1/2 cup vegetable shortening
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 cup water
3 cups oats
1/4 cup flax meal
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
8 oz. apple, chopped
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg

Recipe Directions for Oatmeal apple breakfast cookies

  1. Cream together the first 7 ingredients. In a seperate bowl, mix together all the dry ingredients. Add in batches to the wet ingredients and mix well. Mix in the apple. Drop by spoonfulls onto baking sheet.

  2. Bake in a 350 oven for 12-15 minutes until edges are brown.
