Yet another variation of bran waffles.

Recipe Ingredients for Oat and Wheat Bran Waffles

1 cup Whole Wheat Flour
0.5 cup Oat Bran
0.5 cup Wheat Bran, Crude
0.25 cup Milk, Buttermilk, Dried
1 extra large Egg, Whole
0.5 tsp Salt, Table
0.25 tsp Baking Soda
1 tbsp Vegetable Oil, Canola
1 tsp Sugars, Granulated

Recipe Directions for Oat and Wheat Bran Waffles

  1. Do the sourdough thing with the whole-wheat flour, buttermilk powder, and some water.

  2. The next morning, take out the starter and add the rest of the ingredients except the baking soda.

  3. Add enough water to make it a little doughy.

  4. Dissolve the baking soda in water and stir it in when waffle iron is hot.

  5. Check the texture: it should be soupy, but a little thicker than heavy cream.

  6. Bake in waffle iron until done.
