Recipe Ingredients for Oat Burgers

4 cup water
1/2 cup soy sauce
1 large onion, diced
1/2 tbsp garlic powder
2 tbsp Italian seasoning
4 1/2 cups oats

Recipe Directions for Oat Burgers

  1. Bring all ingredients except the oats to a boil.

  2. Turn heat to low and stir in 4.5 cups rolled oats.

  3. Cook for about 5 minutes until the water is absorbed. Don't overcook. If it is too soupy, add some oats at about 5 minutes and cook for only a few more minutes until thickened.

  4. Fill a rectangular 13 x 9 non-stick baking pan with the mixture.

  5. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes.

  6. Then use a utensil that won't scratch your pan to cut the burger into 12 square burgers and flip them over.

  7. Cook another 20 minutes.

  8. Serve in buns or with gravy and rice.

  9. Can be frozen.
