Besides serving as breakfast and/or snacks, granola is also often eaten by those who are always in mobile due to the fact that it is lightweight and easy to store. I came up with my own mixture that works deliciously well to create healthy and filling granola bars. It makes me happy knowing that I didn?t eat anything sinful that will ruin my diet. It is definitely healthier than all those granola bars you can buy in stores.

Recipe Ingredients for Nutty Granola Bars

2 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup flax meal
1/2 cup raw peanuts
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup honey
4 tbsp butter
1 pinch of salt
1/4 cup raisins

Recipe Directions for Nutty Granola Bars

  1. Heat the frying pan in medium-high fire

  2. Add rolled oats and peanuts onto the hot frying pan. Stirring every few minutes so that they don?t get burned.

  3. Meanwhile, prepare a baking dish (about 11 x 13 inches) to mold the granola by lining it with cling wrap or waxed paper.

  4. Set aside the oats mixture when it turns brown and crispy.

  5. Put the sugar, honey, butter and salt into a saucepan and bring to a simmer, stirring constantly. This will form "liquid glue" that holds grains and nuts together.

  6. Add toasted grains, nuts and dried fruits into "liquid glue".

  7. Mix everything REALLY WELL to make sure the ?liquid glue? gets all over everything.

  8. Now, dump your granola mixture into your prepared baking dish.

  9. Spread out the mixture evenly and PRESS REALLY HARD all over the granola so that your granola won?t fall apart when you cut them.

  10. Set aside until the granola cooled.

  11. Turn the granola onto a large cutting board. Now, firmly PRESS DOWN with a big knife to cut your granola into whatever size bars you would like.

  12. Feel free to use your creativity to create another combo. You can mix up the recipe with your favourite nuts and dried fruits. So many options!
