I am from a Chinese background family so my diet doesn't usually contain alot of Vitamins, though the food I eat aren't oily and fatty, the boiling and stirfrying takes away the nutrients in my food. I also work out alot (jogging, cardio, weights etc) and this brunch I created, is very healthy in my opinion and I often eat this once I return home from jogging which is somewhere in between the time of breakfast and lunch. This meal offers very low cholesterol, a little bit of fat and lots of COMPLEX carb and Dietary Fiber, complex carb give steady energy and doesn't crash like simple carbs so I get the energy I need to workout. I also get some protein, protein gives the longest energy period of all nutrients which is approximately 3 hours. Other than that, due to my Chinese diet, I don't get a lot of sugar, all sugars in this meal is natural as they came from the fruits. This meal also offers tons of vitamins and minerals as well. This meal also gurrantees you to be full and energized for the full day.

Recipe Ingredients for Nutricious Brunch (Breakfast/Lunch)

1/2 large Orange (3-1/2" to 4" dia)
1 Gala Apple
3 Strawberries (1" dia)
2 slices Whole Grain Bread
15 grams Gouda Cheese

Recipe Directions for Nutricious Brunch (Breakfast/Lunch)

  1. Cut Orange in half and slice one half into slices. Store the other half for next day's use.

  2. Peel off the skin of the sliced oranges and put in a glass bowl container.

  3. Slice the apple into cubes and throw in with the oranges (Note: Orange juices prevents the apple cubes from browning).

  4. Then slice the strawberries in halves and throw in along with the fruits. Mix together.

  5. Grate the cheese and sprinkle over the 2 bread pieces. Then use a toaster or toaster-oven and heat the bread to desired conditions. I usually prefer dark.
