Makes 24 servings



Yeast bread with cinnamon pecan filling.

Recipe Ingredients for Nut Strudel

2 pkg yeast
1/2 cup water, warm
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 cup butter
3 tbsp sugar
1 cup milk, scalded
4 egg yolks
4 cup flour
3 cups pecans, chopped
1 cup sugar
4 egg whites
1/8 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp almond extract

Recipe Directions for Nut Strudel

  1. Combined yeast, water and sugar, set aside.

  2. Combine scalded milk, butter & sugar in bowl and beat till butter is melted.

  3. Add 2 cups flour and beat well.

  4. Add egg yolks and yeast mixture & beat well.

  5. Add 2 cups flour & beat &knead well.

  6. Cover with towel and Let rise for 2 hours.Beat egg whites and fold in pecans, sugar, cinnamon and almond extract.

  7. Divide dough in half and roll out to 1/4" thick rectangle.

  8. Spread on 1/2 the Pecan filling and jelly roll.

  9. Place seam side down in greased metal 9X13 pan.

  10. Do for other half and put in same metal pan.

  11. Cover with towel and let rise 35-45 min.

  12. Bake at 375 degrees for 25-30 min.

  13. Remove from pan to cooling rack.
