My Pugs have become as pudgy as I am. In looking for a healthy alternative to the expensive comercial food they and their big brother (an energetic Lab) will eat and not ruin my budget, I put together this recipe. They love the taste and it's really easy to make. Next step is to pass it by our vet.

Recipe Ingredients for NuhTia's Special Blend Turkey

2 1/2 lbs. Ground Turkey
30 oz carrots
15 oz Green Beans
15 oz Peas
1 1/2 cup raw Brown Rice
1/3 cup fresh parsley
4 eggs
1/2 cup dry milk
2 tsp garlic powder
1 tbsp olive oil

Recipe Directions for NuhTia's Special Blend Turkey

  1. Drain vegetables, reserving liquid. Add water to measure 3 cups.

  2. Use liquid to cook rice. Approx 45 minutes. cool

  3. Cook ground turkey till no longer pink. cool

  4. Add eggs, slightly beaten and dry milk to turkey. Cook till eggs are cooked.

  5. Mince parsley into fine pieces (otherwise the picky ones will just eat around them.

  6. Mix all ingredients thoroughly. Package into quart or pint sized containers. Freeze what you will not use in 4/5 days.

  7. When serving I mix kibble in for their teeth.
