Not-So-Dirty Rice Recipe

Traditional dirty rice is so named because the white rice is flecked with brown pieces of chopped chicken livers, instead vegetarian burger crumbles.

Recipe Ingredients for Not-so-Dirty Rice

1 tbsp olive oil
1 medium onion
1 big green bell pepper
3 garlic cloves
1 tsp Tabasco sauce
14 oz diced tomatoes
1 tsp dried thyme
3 cups freshly cooked white rice

Recipe Directions for Not-so-Dirty Rice

Heat olive oik in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion and bell pepper, cover and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic, burger crumbles, Tabasco, diced tomatoes, thyme. Stir to combine and heat through about 5 minutes. Stir in the rice and cook until hot, 5 to 7 minutes. Taste and adjust the seasonings.
