Same structure, but no real gravy and no cheese in the potatoes

Recipe Ingredients for Not quite shepherds pie

4 medium potatoes
7 oz green peas
7 oz chopped carrots
5 oz chopped onion
5 oz chopped green pepper
5 oz chopped celery
16 oz ground chicken
2 T Worcestershire sauce
1 T flour
1 t minced garlic

Recipe Directions for Not quite shepherds pie

  1. Cut potatoes & put in saucepan with cold water. Bring to boil.

  2. Meanwhile, spritz large frying pan with olive oil and brown ground turkey. Add garlic, onions, green pepper and celery.

  3. When vegetables have softened, sprinkle with flour and stir in well. Add Worcestershire sauce. Add ground black pepper to taste.

  4. When potatoes are done, drain most of the cooking water (leaving enough to mash). Mash potatoes.

  5. In a baking dish sprayed with olive oil cooking spray, layer the meat mixture on the bottom, then add peas and carrots, then cover with mashed potatoes. Bake until the top is browned.
