Recipe Ingredients for Not Cabbage Rolls

16 oz Beef, Ground, 90% Lean Meat / 10% Fat, Crumbles
1 head, large (about 5-1/2" dia) Cabbage, Red
30 oz Tomato Sauce
1.5 cup Rice, Brown, Long-grain, Cooked
1 small Onions
2 1tsp Olive Oil
3 tsp Garlic
0.5 cup, shredded Cheddar Cheese
100 grams Mozzarella, Part Skim Milk Cheese
1 tbsp Paprika
1 tsp Spices Oregano Leaves
2 tbsp, leaves Basil, Dried

Recipe Directions for Not Cabbage Rolls

  1. Chop cabbage into 1 inch bits. Put 1 Tbsp Olive oil and half cup of water in large pot and add cabbage. stir occasionally to get all the cabbage to wilt.

  2. Put 1 Tbsp olive oil into frying pan and add chopped onions and garlic. Cook til translucent. Add ground beef and brown. Add 2 cans of tomato sauce, and all the herbs. Stir well, lower heat to simmer. Add rice to tomato mix and sstir til well mixed.

  3. In a rectangular glass baking pan, take about a half cup of tomato mix and spread across pan. layer half the cabbage in. Add half the meat mix and spread to cover cabbage. Add rest of cabbage in next layer then top with the rest of the meat mix. sprinkle cheddar and mozzarella evenly over top and cover tightly with foil. Place in 375 degree oven and bake until it starts bubbling (about 30 minutes. Remove foil so cheese can brown then eat. cause it wa a long day and you're very hungry by now.
