Creamy sauce with a bit of a mustard taste. Has a lot less fat then cheese so it's good to replace all or some of the cheese sauce in a recipie with this. (You can buy nutritional yeast at many health food stores).

Recipe Ingredients for Nooch

2 cups vegetable broth
1/4 cup all purpose flour
1 tbsp olive oil
3 cloves minced garlic
1 pinch dried thyme
1/4 tsp salt
1 black pepper
1/8 tsp turmeric
3/4 cup nutritional yeast
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp yellow mustard

Recipe Directions for Nooch

  1. Combine the broth and flour in a bowl and set aside

  2. sautee the garlic in the oil for 2 minutes.

  3. Add the thyme, salt and pepper and cook for 15 seconds.

  4. Add broth, turmeric, nooch (nutritional yeast), and raise heat to medium; whisk constantly. Bring to a low boil and it should be getting thick, add the lemon juice and mustard.

  5. Cook for another couple of minutes, salt and pepper to taste.
