No-Knead Bread Recipe

a no-knead bread that uses time to extract the glutens, rather than elbow grease. You'll need an oven-proof dish with a lid for this

Recipe Ingredients for no-Knead Bread

3 cup Rogers Bread Flour "White Bread Flour"
1.5 tsp Salt, Table
5 grams Yeast
1.5 cup (8 fl oz) Water

Recipe Directions for no-Knead Bread

  1. mix 3 cups of flour with a quarter teaspoon of yeast and 1.5 tsp of salt.

  2. add water and mix together to make quite a sloppy dough.

  3. put in a large NON-METAL container and leave for anything betwenn 12 and 24 hours. It will become a wet, bubbly , viscous goo.

  4. three hours before you want to eat it, take it out and on a silicone or non-stick mat, add LOTS of flour, flop the wet dough onto it

  5. sprinkle flour on top and fold the sides into the middle.

  6. Leave it for 2 hours, just on the worktop is fine.

  7. after 2 hours set the oven to 250C (very hot) and ut the oven-proof dish with lid in the oven to get hot.

  8. Once to temperature, remove baking dish, plop the dough into it, put on the lid and bake in the oven for 30 minutes lid on followed by 20 minutes lid-off.

  9. once out, the crust will crackle. Excellent crusty bread.

  10. Leave to cool for an hour before eating
