Wonderful take on an East Indian favourite

Recipe Ingredients for No Butter Chicken

2 tbsp Grapeseed Oil
2 tbsp garlic, minced
1 tbsp ginger, minced
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp Garam Masala
1 tbsp cumin seeds
1 tsp curry powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp Red Chili Pepper
12 ounces chicken breast, cut in cubes
1 small red onion, chopped
125 g No Fat Plain Greek Yogurt
1/2 cup water

Recipe Directions for No Butter Chicken

  1. Put a large skillet over medium-high heat and add oil. When it starts to get hot, add onion, garlic, and ginger and cook for 4 minutes, or until the onion is golden.

  2. Add tomato paste, brown sugar, cumin seeds, garam masala, red chili flakes, turmeric, and salt and cook for 2 minutes.

  3. Add the chicken cubes and stir well to coat. Add the yogurt and water and cook, stirring until the chicken is done, about 8 minutes. Serve the chicken with roti or rice.

  4. NB - I didn't have tumeric, so I used 1 tsp of curry powder....but recipe calls for tumeric rather than curry powder
