Recipe Ingredients for New Orleans Pound Cake

1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
2 1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. milk
5 large eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Recipe Directions for New Orleans Pound Cake

  1. Cream butter and sugar together

  2. sift flour, baking powder and salt twice

  3. Add to butter and sugar

  4. Gradually add milk, beating slowly

  5. Add eggs one at a time mixing thoroughly after each

  6. Add Vanilla

  7. bake in greased floured tube pan at 300 for 1 hr and 15 minutes
