Bran Muffins with raisins or dates

Recipe Ingredients for New Orleans Bran Muffins

1 cup All Bran Cereal
1/2 cup 2% Milk
1/2 cup Molasses
1 Egg
1/4 cup Butter, soften
1/2 cup Raisins or Dates
1 cup Flour, sifted
2 1/2 teaspoons Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon Salt

Recipe Directions for New Orleans Bran Muffins

  1. Combine All Bran, Milk and Molasses

  2. Let stand until most of the liquids have been absorbed

  3. Add egg and butter

  4. Beat well

  5. Stir in seedless raisins or pitted cut up dates

  6. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt

  7. Fold into Bran mixture - just until mixed

  8. Fill greased muffin pan 2/3's full

  9. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes
