Fun layered salad that chills overnight.

Recipe Ingredients for The New Layered Salad

3 c romaine
3 c spinach
15 oz cooked chick peas, rinsed and drained
1 c cherry tomatoes, halved
1 c thinly sliced celery
1 c diced ham
1/4 c thinly sliced green onions
1 c Hellmann's light mayonnaise
2 T skim milk
1 T snipped fresh dill
1/8 t ground pepper
6 oz kraft fat free cheddar cheese

Recipe Directions for The New Layered Salad

  1. Place greens in bottom of a 2 1/2 qt clear salad bowl. Layer in the following order: chick peas, tomatoes, celery, ham, and green onions.

  2. For dressing, stir together mayonnaise, milk, dill, and pepper. Spread dressing over the top of the salad, sealing to the edge of the bowl. Cover tightly with plastic wrap. Chill for 4 to 24 hours.

  3. Before serving, top salad with shredded cheese; toss gently to mix. Makes 10 side dish servings.
