A flavorable creamy clam broth with tender vegetables.

Recipe Ingredients for New England Clam Chowder

2 cup clams, raw
4 medium potatoes, diced
1 medium onion, diced
1 tbsp flour
1 cups clam juice
1 cup milk 1%
1 tbsp pepper
1 (4 ounces) bacon, chopped

Recipe Directions for New England Clam Chowder

Cook bacon and once cooked remove cooked bacon and reserve. Then add onions, potatoes, and flour to the bacon renderings cook for about 1 - 2 minutes. Add juice from clams and extra cup of clam juice. (Note: if you are using canned clams use 2 -3 clams and add juice from cans at this time). Allow the potato and clam juice mixture to cook over medium heat until the potatoes are fork tender. Once the potatoes are fork tender add the clams and half-n-half. Allow the the soup to cook for another 5 minutes and season with black pepper to taste. Top with chopped bacon as garnish.
