Recipe Ingredients for New England Clam Chowder

2 slices turkey bacon, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
2 medium green onions, sliced
1 cup minced clams (2 6 1/2 ounce cans, drained)
1 cup reserved clam juice (add water to make 1 cup if needed)
2 cups diced potatoes (2 medium)
1/4 tsp pepper
2 cups skim milk

Recipe Directions for New England Clam Chowder

  1. Cook bacon and onion in 2 quart saucepan over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, until bacon is crisp.

  2. Add enough water, if necessary, to reserved clam liquid to measure 1 cup. Stir clams, clam liquid, potatoes and pepper into onion mixture. Heat to boiling; reduce heat to medium. Cover and cook about 15 minutes until potatoes are tender.

  3. Stir in milk. Heat, stirring occasionally, until hot (do not boil)
