This soup is a good quick meal that warms the body and soul on a cold winter's night.

Recipe Ingredients for Navy Bean Soup

3 oz Sliced Bacon (about 5 slices)
2 cloves Garlic, minced
1 medium Onion, chopped
2 medium Carrots, thinly sliced
4 stalks Celery, thinly sliced
3 cans (16 oz ea) Beans, navy
2 cans (16 oz ea) Chicken Broth, reduced sodium
1 tsp Black Pepper
1 tsp Cumin

Recipe Directions for Navy Bean Soup

  1. In Dutch oven or large pot, fry bacon until crisp,

  2. Remove the bacon and cook the garlic, onion, carrots, and celery in the hot bacon drippings.

  3. Add beans and chicken broth to the vegetables.

  4. Heat until simmering.

  5. Crumble bacon.

  6. Add pepper, cumin, and crumbled bacon to the soup mixture.

  7. Serve hot.
