Great anytime of the year. Best of all, it is made in the slow cooker!

Recipe Ingredients for Navy Bean and Bacon Chowder

1 1/2 cups dried navy beans
6 cups water
6 slices turkey bacon
4 cups chopped carrots
1 medium onion
1 tbsp. dried Italian seasoning
1 1/2 cups fat-free milk

Recipe Directions for Navy Bean and Bacon Chowder

  1. Soak navy beans overnight to soften. Drain andplace in slow-cooker.

  2. Add all ingredients except milk to slow cooker.

  3. Cover. Cook on low 7-9 hours, or until beans are crisp and tender.

  4. Place 2 cups cooked beans mixture into a blender. Process until smooth. Return to slow cooker.

  5. Add milk. Cover and heat on high 10 minutes.
