This is my grandmother's version of the soup.

Recipe Ingredients for Nana's Borscht

4 4 oz raw Bone-In Beef Stew Meat
3/4 medium White Onion
1 serving Carrot
3 beet (2" dia) Beets
1 head Cabbage, Cooked
2 tbsp Butter
2 serving Certified Organic Beef Broth
2 tbsp, crumbled Bay Leaf
2 serving Black Peppercorn
2 serving Season-It All Spice
1 cup, strips Peppers, Sweet, Red
1 Medium Tomatoes
3 potato (2-1/2" dia, sphere) Potatoes, Boiled, Cooked In Skin, Flesh
4 tbsp Cream, Sour, Cultured
4 tbsp Cream, Sour, Cultured

Recipe Directions for Nana's Borscht

  1. Boil bone-in beef in water.

  2. In separate dish combine diced onion, carrot, peppers, beets, potatoes, and cabbage and let simmer over butter and cup of beef broth.

  3. Once beef is cooked and tender, remove bones and add it and the broth to the veggies.

  4. Add bay leaf, peppercorns, parsley and salt to taste.

  5. Let simmer until ready to serve.

  6. Serve each bowl with a tablespoon of sour cream on top and fresh parsley.
