Tastes like an apple strudel --- but no, It's ZUCCHINI!

Recipe Ingredients for Mystery Bars

4 cups flour
2 cups sugar
3 sticks butter
8 cups zucchini, peeled & sliced
2/3 cup lemon juice
1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Recipe Directions for Mystery Bars

  1. Crust:

  2. 4 cups flour

  3. 2 cups sugar

  4. 3 sticks butter

  5. Cut in butter until crumbly.

  6. Spread half the crust mixture in a 9 x 13 pan and bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees.

  7. Filling:

  8. 8 cups zucchini, peeled & sliced

  9. 2/3 cup lemon juice

  10. 1 cup sugar

  11. teaspoon cinnamon

  12. teaspoon nutmeg

  13. Cook zucchini and lemon juice until transparent. Then add sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.

  14. When crust has cooled a bit, add zucchini mixture and then sprinkle the rest of the crust mixture on top.

  15. Shake additional cinnamon and bit of nutmeg over top.

  16. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Let cool and cut into bars.
