Canned beans in the grocery store have all kinds of added and not needed ingredients. These are a simple way to cut back on sodium and sugars. I like to make refried beans out of them.

Recipe Ingredients for My Pinto Beans

6 cups cooked pinto beans
3 cloves garlic

Recipe Directions for My Pinto Beans

Rinse and sort 2 cups dry pinto beans. Soak overnight in 6 cups of water. Rinse, add 6 cups of water and 3 cloves of garlic to beans in a heavy saucepan and simmer for 2-2 1/2 hours OR put in a slow cooker and cook until tender. Add salt and pepper to taste.
