Recipe Ingredients for My Marinara & Meat Sauce

1 sweet onion
3 garlic cloves
2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
56 oz Crushed Tomatoes
28 oz Tomato Sauce
30 oz Diced Tomatoes
12 oz Tomato Paste
1 tsp Kosher Salt
2 tbsp Oregano
2 tbsp Parsley
2 tbsp Basil
1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper
1/4 cup Sugar
1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1 tbsp Oregano
1 tbsp Parsley
1 tbsp Basil
2 eggs
1 lb hot Italian sausage

Recipe Directions for My Marinara & Meat Sauce

  1. Dice sweet onion and garlic and put in a Large pot with EVO on high until onions are soft, stirring often so not to burn them.

  2. Add Crushed Tomatoes, Tomato Sauce, Diced Tomatoes, Tomato Paste, Salt, 2 tbsp Oregano, 2 tbsp Parsley, 2 tbsp Basil and 1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper and bring to a boil, stirring often. When brought to a boil turn burner down to low and simmer. Next make meatballs. Put ground beef into large mixing bowl and add 1/2 cup bread crumbs, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp onion powder, 1 tbsp Oregano, 1 tbsp Parsley, 1 tbsp Basil, and 2 eggs. Mix all together with hands until you get an even consistency. Form meatballs using hands to firmly pack each ball. Put a frying pan on burner on medium high and places some balls in pan. lightly brown the outside of each ball and place them into the sauce as they are browned. Cut sausage into small sections and place in sauce. Simmer. Add sugar 30 mins to an hour before serving. Sauce should be simmered for 2 to 3 hours (can be more) for best results or until meatballs and sausage are cooked through. The longer you wait the thicker the sauce will be... and better
