Mushroom soup adds a fresh flavor to this old favorite

Recipe Ingredients for Mushroom Scalloped Potatoes

2 lbs potatoes
10 oz cream of mushroom soup
6 oz 2% milk
1 medium onion
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp granulated garlic

Recipe Directions for Mushroom Scalloped Potatoes

  1. Slice potatoes and onion into 1/4" slices.

  2. Alternate layers of potato and onion in a 2 quart casorole dish coated with cooking spray sprinkling layers with black pepper and granulated garlic.

  3. Mix together milk and mushroom soup and pour over potatoes; mixture should not quite reach the top of the potatoes.

  4. Bake uncovered in a 350 F oven for 50 min or until potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.

  5. Turn off heat and cover potatoes.

  6. Leave in the oven for 10 minutes to allow potatoes to absorb liquid.
