Low fat version of the traditional

Recipe Ingredients for Mushroom Pate

4 oz Fat Free Cream Cheese
12 oz Mushrooms
1 oz Dried Shiitake Mushrooms
4 oz Wine, Table, White
1 tsp, leaves Thyme, Dried
2 tsp Garlic
1 cup (8 fl oz) Water
0.5 medium raw Onion Red

Recipe Directions for Mushroom Pate

  1. process mushrooms, onion, and thyme in food processor until pieces are very small.

  2. in a medium pot mix together the wine, water, garlic.

  3. Add mushroom mixture to wine mixture. Bring to a boil.

  4. Reduce heat to simmer and simmer covered for 30 minutes. Remove cover and allow liquid to evaporate.

  5. Return mixture to food processor and add cream cheese. Process until smooth.

  6. add salt and pepper if desired.
