Delicious and very satisfying. Have two for a 600 calore dinner. Can likely be stretched into eight servings, depends on how much you like it. Avoid the chips, but indulge in the pickles! Serve alongside summer fruit like watermelon.

Recipe Ingredients for Mum's Sloppy Joes

1 pound lean ground beef
2 stalk celery, finely chopped
1 medium onion, finely chopped
16 oz tomato sauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1/4 cup quick oats
1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
6 hamburger rolls

Recipe Directions for Mum's Sloppy Joes

  1. Brown ground beef with celery and onion till celery is tender.

  2. Add tomato sauce; let cook a few minutes mixed together.

  3. Add a little water, about half a cup; more if you like it sloppier. Then add brown sugar, worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, hot pepper sauce; stir together well and bring to a boil.

  4. Reduce heat, cover, simmer at least 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  5. Serve over buns and enjoy!
